Pedalmummy was the right enablement for KreedaGala’s ‘weekend catch-up’ initiative. The objective of ‘Weekend Catch-up’ is to build a community of like-minded people and to encourage them to perceive a hobby. Meera with her experience and professionalism did help the purpose. Meera’s detailing before the cycling event and her ability to manage and execute the event with the perfection helped us to maintain the effectiveness of the cycling event. The post event motivational speech made by Meera was very inspiring and life transforming. While KreedaGala derived a life learning experience from the event, Meera ensured the event had technical touch and flavour of professionalism.

Meera has been an accomplished cyclist, triathlete over the years. Having trained Meera for a number of years, I have first hand seen her dedication, commitment and ability to go after her goals with a single minded focus. She first approached me when she could hardly swim but was clear in her goals of completing IRONMAN 70.3. She worked hard and over a period In addition to IRONMAN 70.3, she has completed a number of cycling events across India and overseas with great success. She has set an example for people and displayed how you can balance your work, manage family and still pursue your passion and interest with her cycling and endurance events. She is now inspiring others in the community with her venture Pedal Mummy to support a number of women to pursue their interests. With her deep knowledge of cycling, related equipment, she has been instrumental in supporting a number of people take up the sport of cycling to get fitter and healthier.

Some incidents can change your perception and in the long run; your life too. It was one such incident when I met Dr. Meera during 180 Kilometer cycling event of Veloriad 2016.That day marks the beginning of a beautiful mentor-student relationship. Being an elite cyclist herself; she has coached and shaped me into a potential triathlete sportsperson. Distance is not a barrier for the canopy of her teachings. Don’t be surprised if I tell you’ll that we have met only once till date. Not everyone is lucky to get a mentor who can be effective with her teachings especially when the mentor and the student are separated by approximately 1000 Km.I wouldn’t shy myself from concluding that Dr. Meera has been the same to me like Lord Krishna has been to Arjuna during the epic Mahabharata. With only 2 BRM, 2 cycling events and 3 different marathons in my basket; I am nothing more than a novice till date. However, her constant guidance and motivation has always kept me on my toes helping me accomplish each marathon step by step with improvements in the clock timings. In just one of our many discussions, we discussed about how she is planning to complete yet another marathon on her 42nd birthday and how I was planning to complete my 2nd BRM Mumbai-Nashik cycling event of 300 Km. With her expert tutoring advices, I successfully finished and dusted the BRN event. We all know that we can’t clap with one hand; as a pillar of support she has been that mandatory second hand for me. Hence, I would like to offer this victory as a Gurudakshina to her. My next short term target is to participate in my first ever triathlon and with her constant support and my blood and sweat I am expecting positive outcomes from the event. With myriad of awards and expertise in this sport; she has also reached an epitome of multi-tasking where she has kept a good family-sport balance and groomed her daughters equally well. To conclude, I am lucky to have such a friend, mentor and counsellor in my life and hope our relation strengthens with time; like wine.

I met Meera during my Mumbai-Chikhli-Mumbai BRM 400 in August 2014 . She has been a friend, philosopher and guide for me since then. An ace multitasker with a rational mind, that is how she manages the many roles she handles beautifully in her life. A mother and a sportsperson with a vision is what I think she is. I will always remember her team building spirit which she displayed during our group race – Veloraid 2015. I had a major fall in that race but then she provided me with much needed psychological support and we were able to ‘conquer’ the race inspite of the many difficulties we faced. Our tandem bike ride in july 2016 at Surat was a ride started on a wrong foot. It was a 300 km BRM in adverse climatic conditions, heat humidity and rains etc. We had never rode tandem before and secondly the bike had many a niggling mechanical issues. It was the marvelous group of cyclists at Surat who pushed both of us to nail the ride confidently. Again the management skills of my partner Meera kept us motivated in high spirits. I wish her enough in life.

Meera organized a cycle tour – Tour de Teens – for teenagers in Kerala in May 2017. Our daughter Dia and her cousin were part of this trip. It was an amazing 4 day trip – Meera did an awesome job in planning and executing the trip. Children had the right mix of cycling and fun activities. The children cycled 20-30 kms per day on roads. In addition, they covered a number of areas like the Jew Town, Spice markets and colonial Kochi. They loved biking past long stretches of irrigation and cycled in hill ranges to reach Munnar canals. There was always a van with the kids providing fruits and refreshments and for children to take rest, if they required. The cycles were maintained really well and were expensive throughout the trip, Meera motivated and appreciated them for their energy and efforts, that the children took it as a fun activity and the 30 km ride per day didn’t tire them from having more fun activities after the ride. On their last day they slept in tents and had bonfire which made them feel like they were camping in the forest. She is a great mentor and an inspiration for our daughter. Her energy levels are contagious. She makes the toughest tasks look simple, such clarity and confidence is what Meera carries with her. The children came back thrilled and having a fun filled holiday. They are looking forward to another one soon!
